May 2018

Amadeus Choir Community,

We wish to let you know that Lydia Adams, our beloved Artistic Director, has decided to step down at the end of the 2018-2019 season – her 35th year with the choir, and our 45th Amadeus season.

We are truly grateful to Lydia for the vision and passion she has brought to our community. We know that you will join us in wishing Lydia every success as she moves on to pursue other creative projects, and we are honoured to invite you to help us celebrate her inspired artistic leadership throughout our coming season.

Plans are already underway for her final performance with the choir next spring – the timeless masterpiece, the Bach B Minor Mass, featuring the Elmer Iseler Singers, guest soloists and orchestra.

The Board is in the process of creating a Search Committee to engage the choir’s next conductor – only the fourth in the choir’s history. Given Lydia’s vision and legacy, we realize we have a challenging task before us. Nevertheless, we look forward to the next chapter in the life of this vibrant musical community, and are dedicated to maintaining the calibre of work the Amadeus Choir has always strived to achieve.

Yours sincerely,

Amadeus Choir Board
